The CFPB was created by Democrats in 2011. The article said that
seniors have lost more than $5 billion dollars in scams just last year,
so does it sound like CFPB is worth the $500 million dollars per year
it takes to run it?
CFPB is just another piece of Democrat bureaucracy that gives trash
like Gillibrand talking points and she's crying to the "Government Accountability Office" which is yet another piece of Democrat
bureaucracy that wastes money under the guise of saving it.

EVERYTHING the Dems set up does the opposite of what they claim.
I wouldn't be surprised one bit if someone wasn't getting money back
from the senior scams and such.

You totally get it, because I was thinking the same thing. I've
suspected for quite some time that Democrats are behind the scams on
the elderly. Clue #1 is how they keep tricking them into believing that Republicans are trying to take away their Medicare and/or Social
Security. Clue #2 is they don't take any real action on the scams while many things can be done without costing taxpayers. Clue #3 is they're Democrats.
But none of those people are smart enough to come up with such a scam.
It would be interesting to know who the "mastermind" is behind the
scenes.

There's something fishy about a recent law that was passed (by
Democrats) that makes robo-calls illegal.
I used to get a lot of those
calls, but they stopped after the law was passed.
"Dear **Mr Thomas** The interest rate on your loan through **PNC BANK** will increase in 5 days unless you call the number listed below."
Here's what makes me so suspicious about this: Why did the scammers
stop calling people? Just because Democrats passed a law? Who cares
about the law when you're a scammer? It doesn't add up.

are using public records to make custom scam mail that they send to elderly people through USPS.

Well, it could add up.
Scammers call many, many people, they don't get many "hits". And even fewer of those will fall for their scam. Then they have to pay for the calls, so they need to make enough on the scam to make it worth their while. If they get charged with crime, maybe that puts it over their "worth my time" threshold.

Accountability must have it's voice and these people in office within these cities must be removed and people who paid to put them like pawns must be held accountable as well.
People like George Soros and geek son w/ the glasses - him too.
The only way he will grace the cover of GQ is if he buys the periodical. He is so ridiculously smugly. These people and their paid influence, not good. Thinking about it now and hollywood shows us a parallel.
And Hollywood? it's like a funhouse mirror of that same damn rot.
They glamorize dysfunction, emasculate men, praise victimhood, and erase
real heroes while rewriting history to serve their narrative. Every script, every award show, every late-night monologue oozes with smug, detached elitism like they think the rest of us are too dumb to see through the act.

I understand your logic, but most of the scammers I've dealt with seem
to be calling from Jamaica and/or Nigeria. They literally have nothing
to lose. So why would they (assuming I'm right about where they were calling from) suddenly cease fire in wake of Democrat-passed
legislation?
It seems like the Democrats called their Nigerian friends and said
"Guys, no more phone calls. We need to make it look like our
legislation was useful. So now hit those old people with some USPS
scams instead!"

That doesn't ring true. I never even knew such legislation was passed,
so I doubt "vote for us because we allow fewer scam calls" will carry
much weight. Most people are on their guard for scam calls now.
Maybe it was just coincidence and a critical mass of people are on guard for scam calls that the call centers simply shut down due to lack of morons to fall for their scams.

Some of the legislation was signed into law: The Do Not Call Act, which "increases penalties" for scammers was useless, so then the Demcorats
came up with the Traced Act, followed by the Robocop Act, which are
just rewordings of the Do Not Call Act, but with different bragging rights.
But old people can't hear very well over the phone,
telephone is a red flag for anybody standing guard inside an old
person's house, and I think that's why the scammers have evolved into
USPS scams; it's more effective because old people tend to not use
email notifications, and they have a regimen of going out and getting
the mail, and reviewing it.

Ahhh.. the usual "look like we are doing something" scam. They've
tried that one before.
But old people can't hear very well over the phone,
They make amplified phones for old people. My mom has one. It's the
only way she can talk on the phone.
